Biomaterials

A smart choice for your patient’s treatment.

After a tooth is removed, most people start to lose their bone mass, resulting in a change in their facial structure. This can especially impact the success of a dental implant procedure. To regenerate bone in preparation for a dental implant or to help recover from an implant, bone grafting is often used. Bone grafting for tooth implants involves the grafting of bone material onto the jawbone. Once grafted, the new bone takes a few months to integrate, resulting in bone that is strong enough to secure an implant reliably. This graft can either be applied in preparation for or concurrently with implant surgery, depending on the patient’s needs. In either case, however, bone grafts for dental implant procedures help secure dental implants for long-term success.

Bone Grafting Materials

Hiossen Implant offers some of the best bone graft materials for dental implants, each tested for efficacy and compatibility with our products:

  • SMARTbuilder: This titanium mesh membrane is designed to support the bone graft process, providing structure as the bone graft develops and integrates with the jaw.
  • Hans Biomed: Hans Biomed offers a variety of autogenous bone grafting materials and is well-trusted in the dental industry for its solutions. Hiossen partners with Hans Biomed to bring these options to your practice. Each of these tooth bone grafting materials is backed by Hiossen Implant's expertise and dedication to dental health. We dedicate countless resources to our products to ensure your practice is getting the best we have to offer in terms of quality and efficacy.

1- SMARTbuilder

SMARTbuilder is a titanium mesh membrane designed to enhance and support the bone graft process. This bone graft provides the space maintenance and support necessary for bone augmentation, especially in areas of alveolar bone defects where bone regrowth is weak.

Characteristics SMARTbuilder comes in Lateral and Papilla iterations. The Lateral design is ideal for simple socket extractions and other cases that require horizontal or vertical bone augmentation. The Papilla design is used to augment bone growth vertically, restoring papilla height for aesthetic reasons. Both designs feature smooth edges and preformed domed shapes, minimizing potential exposure through soft tissue all while supporting the shape of graft against deformation forces. The graft can even attach directly to an implant to improve the quality of the attachment.

Benefits SMARTbuilder supports and maintains a bone graft’s space, securing bone material and providing coverage to improve the chances of a bone graft’s success. The optimized preformed shape eliminates the need for modification, reducing costs and materials. SMARTbuilder features a pore pattern designed to optimize the diffusion of natural fluids and growth factors throughout the tissue without letting soft and hard tissue form cell occlusions. SMARTbuilder is used in combination with a bone graft material like A-Graft or one of the Hans Biomed treatments offered by Hiossen Implant. Like other Hiossen products, SMARTbuilder is backed by our expertise and dedication to dental health.

2- Hans Biomed Bone Grafting Materials

Hans Biomed offers a variety of autogenous bone grafting materials, each appropriate for specific applications. Hiossen® Implant partners with Hans Biomed to bring these options to your practice.

Cancellous Allograft Cancellous bone is the sponge-like internal layer of bone called trabecular or spongy bone. This material is included in this allograft due to the good osteoconductive properties of this tissue and the willingness of the body to use it to replace new bone. Hans Biomed’s options for this type of bone graft material for dental implants include SureOss™, OsteOss™, and Genesis™.

Cortical Allograft Cortical bone is a compact bone tissue used in support and mineral storage functions in the body. It’s found on the exterior of bones, so it’s often used to repair bone fractures. SureOss™ D is an example.

DBM Allograft Demineralized bone is produced through acid extraction of an allograft bone, resulting in mineral and collagen loss in the material.
The procedure also removes growth factors. The efficacy of this procedure may vary based on the total amount of bone morphogenetic protein
present in the patient and won’t work for every patient. An example is SureFuse™.

Each bone graft material we supply at Hiossen Implant is backed by extensive research and our own investigation, so you can rely on the efficacy of these products. By using these bone graft materials for dental implants, clinicians can help guarantee high-quality implants every time.
